This page has some ideas about how people can volunteer through education projects.

Once you have read through the pages, you need to work in groups of 4 or 5.

In your groups, come up with a project which you think can be advanced through an educational setting. There are no restrictions, but your idea should be innovative and should aim at adding real value to the people you are trying to help.

As you are working through your project, one of you should be putting together a short presentation (Powerpoint, etc) to explain to the rest of the group what you are trying to achieve.

You should aim to cover the following points, at least.

1.             What are the aims of the project?

-The aim of volunteering is to help other people.

- Co-operation and teamwork between the volunteers

- Gain New Experience and change the lifestyle we had.
- Show the World about UAE Culture

2.             Who are the target audience, and why?

The Target Audience are the citizens of UAE Because they are the persons who can participate in helping people and they are who represent the UAE society

To make the UAE society Become Better and with a good Reputation.

3.             What activities would your project involve?

We had a lot of different activities in this project For Example:

1-    We made Gift for Foreign players.

2-    Transfer Training Materials to them.

3-    Helping the referees with some paperwork.

4-    Organize the Fans Area…. Etc

4.             Who would be volunteering?

5.             What are the benefits your project could bring to the target audience?

The benefits for the audience are that can help them to learn from us when they watch us what we are doing.

-the second benefit for them that they can become a better persons in life. And change their lifestyle.

- The last thing that it can improve your confidence when u different activates.

7.              What problems do you think you might come across and how would you try to get around them?

           We had a problem with communicate with foreign Hockey players. But we can improve it by improving our English and language .the difficult it would be hard to deliver our message to the audicance that volunteering is not hard thing but it has many good side of it

You should aim at one or two of your group making a 4-6 minute presentation to the rest of the group explaining your findings.

Ex: this project will help the students of Al Hosan School to develop their IT skills 

In this Project we aim to help the Takatof Organization to organize one of the Best tournament in Abu Dhab. to make everything available and  Comfortable for people who come From outside of UAE. who compete in the tournament.

5.    Time/ schedule: students will volunteer for how many hours / week? Days?  

16 / March / 2014 – 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm ( 4 hours )

18 / March / 2014 – 2:00 Pm to 6 PM  ( 4 hours )

19 / March / 2014 – 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM Then  8:00 Pm to 10:30 PM ( 4 and half hours )

20 / March / 2014 – 10 am To 2:00 Pm  ( 4 hours )

Total 16:30 hours )

6.    To be successful what need to be done?

Ex: In the end, students must be able to type 20wpm English typing. 

After This Event we should be able to break the language barrier and communicate with foreign. and show them that Volunteering has a meaningful, positive impact on society and it is a perfect way to discover Something that u Good at.
Try to get people attention about the UAE culture and how it is a good place.

 

7.    What are the Benefits to the participants? (Both volunteers and recipients)

Volunteers:

                  In the last Day of volunteering with takatof we went there in the morning from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm there was no match in that day because its the day for the players to practice 
as usual we help them with the training materials  and carry up some water for them.
and we end our day with quick interview for our partner in volunteering ( Ahmed mahmoud )

the volunteering experience is new to me and i did like it so much. because i help people and not being selfish as usual. i recommend everybody to try to volunteer cause its really a fun thing to do and u will learn a lot.

                  On march 19 we went to they same place which is Zayed Sport city
i have volunteered in from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm at first "Bu sultan" our Supervisor in takatof Asked us to stand in fans area near the Vip section to see if somebody needs any help.
there was a match between Kuwait and Mongolia. after the match we took picture some of the Kuwait players and our partner Abdullah Alwahedi did interview with 1 of the team player. i think it was very nice of them to allow us to do the interview because they lost the game and i could see the sad in their faces but still they helped us with the interview.
From 8:00 to 10:30 pm we went back to organize our National Team vs Hong kong
it was a very fun and athletic Game.
As it for me i did an interview with our volunteer captain " Hes one of the oldest volunteers in takatof" i asked him 3 quick Different  questions and he answered me very well.

In the Second day of volounteering job with takatof, it was a very simple day for me and all six of us because it was a practice day for the Kuwait Team and no official matches between the teams.

We separate our duties from each other for example Abdullah sultan and Abdullah Awadhi  help the players to show them where they going to be sitting.

And the job that I did which is keep working on the gifts for the other teams. And we did transfer all the gift from place to another.

Also helped to Kuwait Team to with Training Material, we give them the water that they needed and training Materials.

They second day was much easier compared to the first day because it was a very simple job we had.

I have volunteered for 4 hours from 2 pm until 6 pm.

I have volunteered  with takatof for 4 hours From  1 pm to 5 pm. in march 16

and it for Hockey Tournament. different Countries participate in this tournament.

volunteering with takatof was the first volunteer i ever did in my life. 

What we do to help the tournaments become better ?

in our first day all we have asked to do are 

1 - organize the fans area 

2 - make Gifts for the hockey players for Thailand players and hong kong players

First job opinion ? Organize the fans area

my opinion in the first job I did. is  that it was easy and quite job.

cause every one of us asked to stand in position of area fans and to make sure that there are no problems and everything is fine.  and zayed sports city was not very crowded just phew people in my area but there are areas are semi crowded so for me i did not have many troubles but it was really fun just to organize and make sure  everything is fine.

2 - Making Gifts for thailand and hong kong hockey players.

this job was hard because we had bags and we have to fill it with 4 different items 

the zayed city sports workers asked us to fill the bags with 4 different items 

and they told us to make 100s of bags. they were alot of bags we have made

and this job took us alot of time to finish it. i guess it was harder than organize the fans

End of the Volunteering day 1 

At the end we They asked us to have a short break to eat. for me i really did not want to eat i just want to work more and do different things.
